The Governor proposes a 14% reduction in education funding, which equals $2,769,565.12.  This equals 92 jobs.

The budget of the State of Illinois is in crisis. The State currently owes our school district more than $2,200,000. The prospects for next year are even bleaker. The Governor has posted details of the budget crisis on line at http://www2.illinois.gov/budget . The lack of a sustainable and equitable revenue source to fund our schools is causing this growing problem. For the next two weeks, the taxpayers of the State of Illinois have the unprecedented opportunity to give input to the Governor. Contact Governor Quinn now using the link at the bottom of the Governor’s budget page and let him know that you support his efforts to force the State Legislature to immediately address this urgent situation for our schools.
